We Helped Thousands Start a New Life in Israel

Making Aliyah is one of the most important decisions of your life — and it starts with paperwork. Every document must be correctly translated, certified, and formatted to meet the standards of the Jewish Agency (Sochnut), Nefesh B'Nefesh, and the Israeli Ministry of Interior. A single mistake or missing translation can delay your Aliyah by weeks or even months. At iTrex, we have been helping new immigrants since 2005. We know exactly which documents are required, how they must be formatted, and what each agency expects. Our translators specialize in immigration documents and work with over 30 source languages including Russian, English, French, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Amharic.

Frequently Asked Questions About Aliyah Translation

Which documents need an apostille for Aliyah?

Most civil documents require an apostille from the country of origin before they can be translated and submitted. These typically include:

  • Birth certificates — required for every family member
  • Marriage/divorce certificates
  • Criminal background checks
  • University diplomas (for degree recognition)

The apostille must be obtained before translation. We can advise you on the exact requirements for your country of origin.

Do I need notarized or certified translation for Sochnut?

The Jewish Agency (Sochnut) accepts certified translations for most documents. However, some documents — especially those related to Jewish heritage — may require notarized translation depending on the consulate. We prepare all translations to the highest standard so they are accepted regardless of the requirement level.

How much does an Aliyah document package cost?

Individual document translation starts from 150 ILS per page. However, we offer special family packages that significantly reduce the per-document cost:

  • Single person: 5-8 documents — from 900 ILS
  • Couple: 10-15 documents — from 1,500 ILS
  • Family with children: 15-25 documents — from 2,200 ILS

Send us your document list for an exact quote — it takes only a few minutes.

How long does Aliyah translation take?

Standard turnaround is 3-5 business days for a complete family package. If you have an urgent Aliyah date or consulate appointment, we offer express service (24-48 hours) for an additional fee. We recommend starting the translation process at least 2-3 weeks before your planned submission date.

I am making Aliyah from Russia/Ukraine — should I translate into Hebrew or English?

For Aliyah through the Jewish Agency, documents are typically translated into Hebrew. However, some documents may also need an English translation — for example, diplomas for degree recognition by the Ministry of Education. We always translate into the language required by the specific receiving authority and will advise you on what is needed.

Can you help with Nefesh B'Nefesh document requirements?

Yes! We work extensively with Nefesh B'Nefesh applicants and know their specific requirements well. NBN often requires additional documents compared to standard Sochnut Aliyah, including:

  • Proof of Jewish heritage (multiple generations)
  • FBI background check (for US applicants)
  • Professional licenses for degree recognition

We provide a free document review — send us your NBN checklist and we will confirm which items need translation.
